GET INVOLVED at St Catherine of Siena Orphanage and School

There are a number of ways you can continue to make a big difference for the children of  St. Catherine’s and the community. 

Education: 500 is the current number of students supported in all our projects and your CSR Educational Commitment for the less privileged can be offered through St Catherine of Siena. We stand to Educate, Heal and Empower through long term and committed support for the children orphans, street, slums and destitute.

Shelter and Clothing: Safe sheltered space make children happier; it provides the much-needed trusted and loving space for them to move away from many fears: the fear of hunger, fear of violence, fear of loss or death to name a few. Orphanage or shelter home management provided professionally makes a big difference in their life, giving a very good foundation to become a better person. 

Health and Hygiene: Prevention and Cure are the mantra in all our Health and Hygiene programs. Awareness programs, medical camps, medical supplies and dealing with all serious illness of children (Cancer, Tuberculosis, HIV Aids etc) and their supporting families are in the focus. Your Health and Hygiene initiative to prevent malnutrition or to develop our basic clinics to better equipped centres with nurses and doctors are welcome.

Counselling and Life-skill: Mental and Emotional health make the changes visible in children coming from disturbed backgrounds. Regular interventional programs are conducted with children to make them dependable and to remove or reduce the vulnerability of abuses (substance, physical, sexual etc) This long-term support gives students to focus on their goals, achieve it and settle as a happy person-helping them to come out of the cycle of abuse.

Youth Empowerment: The purpose driven Youth Development creates successful and happy youngsters for the society. The many success stories of St Catherine of Siena revolve on this powerful development of Youth energy transforming into valuable resources in the larger story of Nation building. Along with funding, you also can get involved into training the youngsters in our Mentoring Program.

Women Empowerment: Distressed, sick, abused women who comes to St Catherine are given a space to get empowered along with their children. Thus, the biggest change starts with the women for a better life. Reaching out to them with our Happy Home activities has been rewarding and it creates happy mothers who often had forgotten their existence in a deprived atmosphere.

Infrastructure: Maintenance of existing infrastructure, adding more facilities to equip the centre to meet the challenges or Creating a basic infrastructure in a new place is always a big challenge. Your CSR investment in this area act as the change maker for any our activities since upgraded infrastructure brings dignity and respect to the population who benefit the services from it. New shelters, school building, computer rooms, work rooms, hygienic toilets, school buses are always in need.

Sports and Education: Sports clubbed with education were rewarding with many slum students who happened to be in addiction and violence owing to the peer pressure in the slums. Annual 10 Days Sports workshop which cater to over 250 students with the support of coaches, mentors, social workers and counsellors have empowered many students to say NO to violence and addiction. Importance of education and playing sports is encouraged to stay fit and to say NO to any form of bad influences and behaviour.

Arts and Healing: Learning the Performing or visual arts for children has been always a happy memory for them. Children from deprived background look for this opportunity in search of proving their hidden or ignored skill due to their substandard living. At the same time experiencing arts become a healing activity which connects to their inner soul—giving child a new image of an artist. Professional artists are employed to help children and if you are a professional who is ready to volunteer or mentor, you are always welcome.

Tribal Initiatives: Hundred students are supported in the tribal village in the Murbad, Thane District through our Village Centre with an emphasis to give support to the remote areas where there is no organisational support. You can help us to identify and start more centres which runs educational and health initiatives through mobile vans or mobile buses. Educational programmes through one village one teacher concept also implemented to bring sustainability.

Founding a New Centre: You are always welcome to make things happen in a BIGGER WAY. You can completely sponsor a Centre to come up in a remote village or in a City Space. Together, we can make it bigger, better, brighter and with pure CSR initiative and involvement without boundaries.

ST CATHERINE OF SIENA ORPHANAGE---WHAT A SHELTER CAN OFFER...

Having proper care in a homely environment can create healthy personal space for children to grow. There is nothing better than a homely environment below a roof since this roof is protection and homely environment is the space to grow.  Homeless children on the street often are deprived of their personal places leaving them to live in the open spaces.  While malnutrition, sickness and death await children, they beg on the street for their survival and to support their parents who often turn out to be addicts.  Rehabilitating children from the street and orphans are taken care in the orphanage sections at St Catherine of Siena.
